In 1946, Lluís Dorca Marcé and Estrella Plana Banús, both from Pruit, built a large house, a mountain house made of stone, in the centre of the village: the Hostal Estrella. (The name of the house corresponds to that of Lluís Dorca’s wife, who was called Estrella). At the time, Lluís worked transporting timber and coal with packhorses, and Estrella sold groceries and made an exquisite ratafia spirit. In 1946 they opened the guesthouse. A few years later, the heir of the founders, Joan Dorca and his wife, Maria Lluisa, continued running the business. Today their grandchildren, Lluís Manel and Susanna, run the guesthouse.

The Estrella restaurant is committed to promoting the Catalan culinary heritage, reflected in the Catalan cuisine on offer in the menu. With a family atmosphere and in a calm and welcoming setting, the Hostal Estrella is the ideal place for resting and relaxing, as well as for enjoying great walks through beautiful and stunning landscapes. Our guesthouse is in the centre of the village, which has a medieval air, with very old houses dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, built with solid stone, with squares, streets and corners that are a wonder to take in.
